Rising above the Killer Waves

Sarana Foundation (Padanama) has undertaken the noble cause of helping the people affected by the Tsunami. We will have both a short-term and a short-term plan. In the first phase, we will focus on immediate relief for the people in refugee camps. Long term plan is to rebuild a selected village hit by the Tsunami.

Immediate Reliefs

A large number of people were injured by the Tsunami. Seriously injured are in Hospitals and there are many with minor wounds stay at many refugee camps. These people need medical attention. We are collecting Medicines and other supplies to be given to doctors and organizations that provide medical facilities for these people.

Rebuilding Villages

The long term undertaking of the foundation is to completely rebuild a village destroyed by the Tsunami: reconstruct the houses lost by the villagers and help them get the rest of the basic facilities. This is a much bigger undertaking which needs a lot of resources in terms of material and money. We will update this site with details on the reconstruction plan as soon as they are available....more
